After the Kamešnica Elementary School in Otok, the 2nd Elementary School in Bjelovar and the Antun and Stjepan Radić Elementary School in Gunja, the Horvati Elementary School in Zagreb also joined the Classroom of the Future Project in Croatia. Croatia’s seventh Classroom of the Future opened on 01 April 2016 will enable interactive learning with the support of latest information technologies to 300 pupils of the Zagreb elementary school.
The goal of the project of the Croatian Academic and Research Network CARNet and the Samsung Electronics company, supported by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, is to enable access to advanced information technologies to all pupils and help bridge the digital divide.
The Classroom of the Future in the Horvati Elementary School adheres to the verified global practice implemented in Croatia by CARNet and Samsung in cooperation with partners, featuring a teacher’s computer, tablets and an interactive whiteboard, which enable interactive knowledge exchange to all pupils. Teachers can quickly share information and notes, as well as have an immediate grasp of the pupils’ knowledge of a particular lesson. There is the option of sharing content on the interactive whiteboard and sending it to the pupils’ tablets in just a few “clicks”. Pupils and teachers will simultaneously keep lesson notes, underline key information or draw, on tablets as well as on the interactive whiteboard. Teachers can very quickly check whether the pupils understand the lesson, through short quizzes, surveys and discussions.
