Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNET, in cooperation with its partners, the Faculty of Science of the University of Split and the Department for Teacher’s Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split, in the framework of the Science Festival in Split, held the fourth convention of the Modern Education Technology – MET 2017.
The convention took place during two days, 27 and 28 of April 2017, and offered a series of lectures, workshops, demonstrations and presentations of good practice examples. The main theme of the event were creative classes presented through lively discussions, a number of practical and stimulating workshops and demonstrations of excellent and inspirational examples of technology application in teaching.
A special emphasis was on workshops and lectures for teachers of science and mathematics participating in the e-Schools project: Establishing a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools (pilot project), which is co-financed by the European Union from European structural and investment funds.
The first day started with a festive ceremony with the introductory lectures by Mr. Branko Bognar, dr.sc., from the Faculty of Education of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, on the subject of “How to help teachers in achieving creative classes?”.
Besides interesting lectures and workshops on the subject of teaching and learning in the 21st century and the application of ICT in classrooms, the participants were given the opportunity during the both days to see concrete examples from teacher’s practice and communicate with innovative teachers who apply technology in their everyday practice as an aid to classroom activities with their students.
During the two days, the convention gathered more than 360 attendants, which is a 20 percent increase as compared to previous year.
